Truck Scale Price Guide — What Actually Drives Cost
We do not print a price list, because a truck scale price without a specification is a guess. Here is every variable that moves the number, so you can request a quote that is comparable.
Search for truck scale price and you will find single figures that mean nothing. Two machines with the same nameplate capacity can differ by a wide margin once deck length, module count, sensing type, foundation, software and destination are fixed. The honest way to buy is to specify first and price second.
This guide lists the factors our engineering desk uses when it builds a quotation. None of them is a hidden surcharge; each is a line you can confirm against the issued drawing. When you send a request with these fields filled in, the specification and the price arrive together.
Our commercial frame is deliberately simple: lead time around 60 days, minimum order 1 unit, payment by T/T, and a choice of EXW, FCA, FOB, CNF, CIF, DAP or DDP. That last choice, who carries freight, insurance and duties, is one of the biggest differences between two prices for the same steel.

FACTORS / COST DRIVERS
What moves the number
| Cost factor | Why it moves the number | What to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity class | Heavier rating increases section size and cell rating | Heaviest gross vehicle weight |
| Deck length and width | More steel and a longer foundation | 3,500 x 1,000 or 4,200 x 1,000 mm |
| Module count (ZDG) | Each extra section adds fabrication and joints | Wheelbase and axle grouping |
| Sensing type | WIM plates and electronics cost more than static cells | Static or weigh-in-motion |
| Foundation | A pitless 58 mm direct-bury plate cuts civil works | Pit or pitless, soil condition |
| Surface specification | Blasting grade and measured film thickness | Sa2.5 and >= 120 um dry film |
| Software package | Unattended, LPR, LED board and caching are separate subsystems | 7x24, capture, multi-site needs |
| Destination and incoterm | Freight, insurance and duties change landed cost | EXW / FCA / FOB / CNF / CIF / DAP / DDP |
| Quantity | Single pilot unit vs multi-unit frame | Number of units and lanes |
| Installation scope | Turnkey commissioning vs distributor-led build | On-site team requirement |
If two offers differ, put them side by side and check deck length, coating thickness, fatigue test evidence, load cell overload rating and incoterm. A cheaper deck with an unstated dry film thickness is not the same product.
DELIVERABLE / THE QUOTE
What a quotation from us contains
A usable quote is a small spec sheet, not a single line. Ours names the capacity class, the deck dimensions and module count, the construction and coating figures, the load cell and indicator configuration, the static or WIM sensing choice, the software package, the foundation type, the packing list, the lead time and the incoterm.
- Commercial
- Lead time ~60 days, MOQ 1 unit, payment T/T, EXW to DDP.
- Structural
- Capacity class, deck dimensions, module count, U-section closed-cavity weld.
- Surface
- Sa2.5 blasting, double-layer coating, dry film >= 120 um.
- Instrumentation
- Load cell rating, 150% overload, indicator, static or WIM sensing.
- Software
- Unattended package, image and video linkage, offline cache, multi-site management.
- Logistics
- Foundation type, packing, destination port, chosen incoterm.
No unverifiable claims, no customer names and no stock promises appear in our quotations, only the parameters we can put on a drawing.
REQUEST / NEXT STEP
Get a spec-based quote
Send the gross vehicle weight, axle configuration, deck length, pit or pitless preference, static or in-motion weighing, site country, destination port, preferred incoterm and estimated quantity. The more of these we have, the tighter the specification we return.
FAQ
Pricing and quotation questions
Do you publish a price list?
We quote against a specification, not a catalogue number. Capacity, deck length, module count, static or WIM sensing, foundation type, software package, destination and incoterm all move the number, so a bare price would be misleading.
What is the typical lead time for a truck weighing scale?
Around 60 days from a confirmed drawing and order. The slot covers fabrication, surface treatment, load-cell fitting, factory calibration and packing. We confirm the exact window with the quotation rather than printing a blanket promise.
Which payment and trade terms do you work with?
Payment is by T/T. We quote EXW, FCA, FOB, CNF, CIF, DAP or DDP so the comparison stays transparent against your landed-cost model.
What should I include in a quote request?
Gross vehicle weight, axle configuration, deck length, pit or pitless preference, static or in-motion weighing, site country, destination port, preferred incoterm and estimated quantity. The more of these we have, the tighter the specification we return.
What is the minimum order quantity?
One unit. We routinely ship single machines for pilot sites as well as multi-unit frames for parks and ports.
