PRODUCT LINE / PORTABLE AND AXLE
Portable and Axle-Load Weighing Solutions
When a permanent pit is impossible or the site will move, the 58 mm direct-bury WIM plate and axle-load pads give you a documented weighing point without major civil works.
Not every weighing problem needs a twenty-year foundation. Temporary construction access, seasonal aggregate sites, enforcement checks and airport cargo areas all need a scale that can be installed, calibrated and removed. Our portable line is built around the wide-flange plate sensor used in our weigh-in-motion systems.
The sensor is 58 mm thick and designed for direct burial, so the civil package is a shallow recess rather than a full pit. It is rated IP68 for the buried environment and 150% overload for the shock of an axle arriving off-square. Full-wheel load integration replaces the point-load assumption: the system integrates the whole wheel pass, which cancels eccentric loading and the error introduced by irregular driving.
In motion the stated dynamic accuracy is +/- 0.5% of gross weight, with a single-axle class of E under the manual caliber, across a traffic speed of 1-100 km/h. Add licence plate recognition, an LED information board and a data acquisition subsystem and the same pad becomes an enforcement or unattended checkpoint with image capture, video linkage and offline local caching.

DATA / WIM PLATE
Portable and WIM specification
| Parameter | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sensor thickness | 58 mm | Direct-bury, no civil pit |
| Ingress protection | IP68 | Buried environment rating |
| Overload capacity | 150% | Of rated load |
| Dynamic accuracy | +/- 0.5% | Gross weight, per manual Class 1 |
| Single-axle accuracy | Class E | Per manual caliber |
| Traffic speed | 1-100 km/h | Weigh-in-motion range |
| Measurement method | Full-wheel load integration | Cancels eccentric / irregular driving error |

Choose portable when the site is temporary, the ground cannot take a pit, or axle-by-axle data is the goal. Choose a fixed U-section deck when the same lane will run high cycles for years. We quote both against one specification, so the comparison is fair.
SOFTWARE / UNATTENDED
What runs behind the pad
The WIM subsystem is supported by software for 7x24 unattended operation: image capture with video linkage, detection of S-shaped detours, rush-scale and drag-scale behaviour, local caching when the network drops, and multi-site central management. Each event is stored against the vehicle record rather than lost in a shift log.

FAQ
Portable and axle weighing questions
What accuracy should I expect?
For dynamic weigh-in-motion the stated figure is +/- 0.5% of gross weight, with a single-axle class of E under the manual caliber. Static weighbridge accuracy is confirmed against the issued drawing during factory calibration for the chosen configuration.
Should I choose a portable or a fixed weighbridge?
A fixed U-section deck suits permanent high-cycle sites. Portable and axle-load pads suit temporary works, enforcement checks or sites where a civil pit is not viable. We quote both against the same spec sheet.
What overload margin is built in?
Load cells and the WIM plate are rated for 150% overload. That margin is there for the incidental shock of a heavy axle dropping onto the deck, not for sustained overloading.
Does the WIM plate need a concrete pit?
No. The 58 mm sensor plate is designed for direct burial, which removes most of the civil works. It is rated IP68 for the buried environment.
Can the system detect irregular driving or cheating?
The weigh-in-motion software flags S-shaped detours, rush-scale and drag-scale behaviour, and links each event to captured images and video for audit.
